On May 22, 2019, the 3rd Future Network Development Conferencewas held in Jiangning Future Network Town, Nanjing. The theme ofthe conference was "Network Global, Win the Future", while lastyear's theme was "Innovation, Leadership, Future". If we are stillin the turbulent period of transition in 2018, after one year'spractice and precipitation, both the government, global operators,equipment manufacturers, relevant representatives and leaders ofInternet companies, as well as experts and scholars in the field ofnetwork, have a better understanding of the needs and concepts offuture network, industrial chain and ecological cooperation.
Last year and this year, what remains unchanged is the infinitefuture and the common pursuit of the future network, and whatchanges is the new needs and challenges that arise withpractice.
From more than a decade ago, when we realized that the Internetwas going to change, to the establishment of Jiangning Institute ofNetwork Innovation in the future in 2011, and to the present"decisive" moment, there may be some differences on the specificrealization of white box, marginalization, virtualization and otherbusiness issues, but the existing network system has reached aninevitable moment of change, on which all the colleagues of theGeneral Assembly have reached agreement.
IP Overburdened Needs to Update the System by SubversiveMeans
The first problem is the architecture. Modern network can nolonger carry data exchange in the era of big data and AI. Thestructure decides the nature. According to Wu He-quan, academicianof Chinese Academy of Engineering, network protocol (IP) onlyconsiders supporting connectionless data communication at thebeginning of its design. This is the weakness of the originalcommunication network, and the data traffic in the network at thattime accounted for a small proportion. In addition, IP openarchitecture can be operated on any digital network (includingcircuit-switched SPC telephone network). There is no specialrequirement for the underlying communication facilities. It takes bothtime and human and financial resources to start on demand andrepair the evolution route. Therefore, "we prefer to rely on the revolutionary lineand use subversive technology to update the existing system."

They include variousnew network architecture, such as information center network,service customization network, and so on. They completely changethe working mode of the existing TCP/IP network. It includes allkinds of key and hot technologies related to the network, such asnew networking technology, network protocol upgrade, as well as newtechnologies such as artificial intelligence to solve the existingnetwork problems.
This open system, which integrates "evolution and revolution",can ensure that new business needs are met in the short term, andthat the existing network problems are solved comprehensively andthoroughly in the long term, so as to promote the development ofthe digital information society.
Change with Pain and Innovation
